Getting Ready For Spring

Tying the tire swing
This weekend David showed his desire for spring by asking us to put up a tire swing. We had one up last year, but we took it down so we could move it closer to the house. Now I can watch him swing as I look out the kitchen window. It is also next to the back patio, so it should get even more use this year.

David and Rich had a wonderful time, even in the rain, putting the swing up. David was falling down in gales of laughter as they tried to get the rope over the limb. They used a brick to throw the rope over the limb and you guessed it—it got stuck. After much gentle tugging it came down, without injury to anyone. Before you knew it David was doing tricks on the swing.

That looks like so much fun! He will remember this day the rest of his life. What great father/son time! I love that big tree! Is that your yard...it is beautiful!

Yes, the tree is wonderful and there are several others like it in the yard. There are also several flowering bushes, which are being kept trimmed back since David is constantly cutting them. The rooms in our home are now overflowing with beautiful blossoms.

My husband has posted some photos from our yard (different angles), if you'd like to see more of our yard. We are quite blessed. This link will take you to his weekly updated blog header photos: Blog Headers

Mrs. Wilt - you missed seeing me try to throw the rope over the branch using a brick. We all now know why I'm a graphic designer and not an architect. Yikes!!!!

Rich,
I wish I could have been there! LOL

PS- I used the wonderful picture that either you or Kim took of Mike and Angela for a guest post today. You are both EXCEPTIONAL photographers. :o)

Yep - I took that one. Kim got a really cool photo of me taking that picture. Mike, Angela, and I area all silloetted against the large church window behind us. And Kim caught my best side--with a camera in front of my face.

I'm glad you like the photo. I was asked last week to cover an event for Washington, DC, Cardinal McKerrick. That will be my first time professionally photographing a celebrity (of sorts). I'm quite excited.
