Everyone brings food and all evening people go back and grab a bit more to eat. There is usually so much food that the table is covered in crock pots and desserts.
I usually take my tostados. It's a wonderful and easy dish that reheats well. The only problem is that it's so good none ever makes it home.
Tostadas
· 3 lbs ground beef, browned
· 3 large cans refried beans
· 3 envelopes taco seasoning mix
· 2 8oz. cans tomato sauce
· 1-1/2 cups water
· shredded cheese
· Scoops tortillas
Combine the ground beef, refried beans, taco seasoning, tomato sauce and water in a slow cooker.
Cover. Cook on low for several hours.
Use the scoops as spoons and top with the shredded cheese.

So if you're looking for a great football meal this is it!
That's what I need! An easy recipe! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI can vouch for this recipe. It is a keeper. Everyone loves it and it's actually quite fun to eat. It's a great party food (especially for Super Bowl parties).
ReplyDeleteMy only question is, when do you top it with the cheese? When it is still in the crock pot? That way, the cheese isn't evenly distributed. Or do you layer it in a shallower baking dish, w/burger and beans on bottom and then top w/cheese?
ReplyDeleteI usually leave a bowl od the cheese beside the mixture. That allows everyone to put as much or as little cheese on as they wish.
ReplyDeleteI just leave the mixture in the crock pot and transfer it to the event. It makes it very easy.
